Our Priorities

Strengthen Westport’s local economy by reopening our businesses safely, promoting Westport throughout the region as the best place to work, live, and play, and revitalizing Westport’s Downtown and Saugatuck commercial hub so they are premier destinations for dining, shopping, entertainment, and the arts for people of all ages.

Ensure a world-class education for Westport’s students.  For more than a decade, we have been leading advocates for Westport's public schools and have demonstrated our strong support for the education community in our current roles on the Board of Selectmen and the Board of Finance.  We have also served as a member of the Westport Board of Education (Jen), a member of the RTM’s Education Committee and former PTA President (Andrea), and we are both active volunteers with organizations dedicated to educational opportunity. We are committed to transparency, accountability, and excellence in our schools, and will foster a collaborative relationship with the school administration focused on the maintenance and safety of our school facilities -- an initiative which is currently underway -- and the positive development and well-being of every child through the Westport Together alliance launched by Jen Tooker.  We understand the importance of being a supportive partner to our outstanding schools.

Enhance Westport’s treasured amenities, including Longshore, Baron’s South, and other public parks and recreational facilities, and bring them to the next level of enjoyment and accessibility for Westporters.  We will develop and implement strategic plans to invest in upgrades, protect open space, and explore the installation of new sidewalks, while remaining financially disciplined and with the needs of the public as our principal guide.

Build a community of belonging, safety and well-being for all of our Westport residents and business owners by expanding the reach of the successful Westport Together alliance to advance new programs supporting the health and mental well-being of our children, families and seniors; bolster key partnerships with our schools, local non-profits and social services organizations; support robust in-person classes and events at the Center for Senior Activities, and lead transformational community conversations and initiatives focused on the understanding and celebration of each other’s culture and experience.

Promote strong property values by continuing to manage taxpayer resources responsibly, keeping the mill rate steady, supporting excellence and accountability in our school system, investing wisely in our infrastructure, delivering exceptional Town services, and preserving Westport’s wonderful quality of life.  We must also preserve our Town’s ability to maintain local control over zoning to address Westport’s housing and development needs.

Establish Westport as the regional leader on sustainability and environmental stewardship. We will support innovation and new technologies that help Westport achieve our Net Zero by 2050 goal, and protect our incredible natural resources including the Long Island Sound and Saugatuck River, beautiful local parks, and recreational spaces for future generations to enjoy.
